Chapter 4 Update 2/8/12

Hello-
There has been a change to the calendar from last Friday.  Please review the new homework schedule.  Also the 4.1-4.2 quiz has changed from this Friday to Tuesday (2/14/12).

Happy Friday!
This week, students practiced solving and writing both short and extended responses.  Students worked on Chapter 4 vocabulary in preparation for next week.  We also practice ISAT questions, and looked at Superbowl statistics and numbers.  Next week students will begin to learn about functions and relationships.  Please check the calendar for nightly assignments.  Thank you and have a wonderful weekend!

Happy Friday!
This week students learned how to solve and graph one-step inequalities.  They took a quiz over this information yesterday.  Over the weekend, students need to complete the Math Minutes 5 and 6 worksheet.  Next week, students will begin to look at the vocabulary from Chapter 4 and will also be completing a math Extended Response.  There will not be a quiz next week.  Have a wonderful weekend.

Happy Friday!
This week students continued to work in their math centers focusing on writing, graphing, and interpreting inequalities.  They are taking a quiz over these concepts today.  Next week,s tudents will learn how to solve one-step inequalities with addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.  They will also continue to practice graphing the solutions.  There will be a quiz over One-Step Inequalities on Thursday.  Students do not have school on Friday.  I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Hello-
This week students have continued to work in their inequality centers.  There will be a quiz over this material on Friday, instead of Thursday this week.  Next week we will focus on solving and graphing one-step inequalities.  Please remind your students to bring their calculators with them to class everyday.  Many students are leaving them at home or in their lockers.  Thank you for your continued support.

Hello-
It is hard to believe we are already back from break!  This week will will be working with Inequalities: writing, interpreting, and graphing.  The quiz over these topics will not be until next Thursday (1/19).  Please check the calendar for any homework assignments.  I am attaching any worksheet files below.  I hope you have a wonderful week.

Weekly update 12.22.11

Hello-
This week students took their Chapter 2 Tests.  They will get these back after break.  When we return from break, students will learn how to read, graph, and interpret inequalities, and also how to solve one step inequalities with addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.  I hope you all have a wonderful and safe holiday season.

Weekly Updates 12.16.11

Happy Friday!
This week students learned how to calculate percents of numbers, find simple interest, percent change, and percent error.  They will be taking a quiz over these concepts today in class.  Students will be receiving a Chapter 2 Study Guide today in class.  They need to complete questions 1-13 over the weekend.  The Chapter 2 test will be on Wednesday (except for students who are attending Yorktown.  They will make up test on Thursday).  We will review in class on Monday and Tuesday.  The homework next week will be to work on the study guide at home.  I am attaching a copy of the study guide to the website.

Happy Friday!
This week student students learned how to solve proportions and apply that knowledge to finding the missing side of similar figures, and figuring out scale drawings.  Students are taking a quiz over these concepts today in class.  Next week, we will focus on percent problems using the percent proportion and finding the percent change and percent error using formulas.  There will be a quiz on Friday over these concepts.  The Chapter 2 test will take place on Wednesday, December 21.  It will cover sections 2.1, 2.2, 2.6, 2.7, 2.8, 2.9 and 2.10.
