Songs‎ > ‎

I Love My God

arranged by Josh White

I love my God but with no love of mine
For I have none to give.
I love thee, Lord, but all the love is thine
For by thy grace I live.
And I am as nothing
And rejoice to be
Both emptied and swallowed up in thee.

Were it with ink that the oceans were filled
The skies of parchment made,
Were every reed on this green earth a quill,
Each man a scribe by trade
To write of thy love would
Drain the oceans dry.
And fill every corner of the sky.

Thou, Lord, alone are all they children need
For there is none beside.
From thee the streams of blessedness proceed.
In thee the blessed abide.
O fountain of mercy,
All abounding grace,
My source, shelter and my dwelling place.
