Geoff Moore from North U coaching at WKNC 2011

The organizing committee is please to announce that Geoff Moore will be the head coach on Friday June 3rd for the all-day coaching session.  He will lead both the on and off water sessions.  Don't miss out on this great learning opportunity!
North U is the Education Division of North Sails.  The North U seminars feature the latest in racing technique presented in a full multi-media format by outstanding instructors. North U educates through our Books, CDs, DVDs, Seminars, Race Weeks, On Board Coaching and Clinics.
Geoff has extensive experience in all aspects of sailing. He holds multiple titles in such small boats as Interclub Dinghies, JY15, J/22s, J/80s, Sonar’s, Snipe’s, Star’s, Shield’s, But most people know Geoff as an accomplished J/24 sailor.  He is the current 2004 Midwinter champion, and has held the North American title twice.

Geoff is a 1983 graduate of the University of Rhode Island. He lives with his wife Gillian and their three daughters in Toronto. Geoff has been working as a sail consultant for North Sails since November of 2000.  Prior to that Geoff spent ten years running his own sail loft in Newport, Rhode Island. He still enjoys strong ties to Newport and its sailing industry.

Registration is now open.  Please note that your registration fee includes all of the following for your team (up to 4 competitors per boat)
  • Launch and haul-out
  • Friday coaching clinic
  • Lunch on Friday, Saturday and Sunday
  • Saturday night dinner and entertainment
  • Sunday snacks
  • Free photo downloads provided by May's Studio
  • Regatta souvenir for each competitor

For the 2011 event, the organizing committee has chosen the J22 for competition.  Crews of up to 4 may compete.  Visit the J22 website for more information about the boat.
