Decendents of Thomas and Bridget E. Murphy

Bridget Moran's marriage to Thomas Murphy who was born in Chicago, took place at Immactulate Conception Church in Waukegan, IL on February 7, 1866. Their children were Mary Agnes b. 1871, Minnie b. 1871, John Joseph b. 24 Dec 1872, Katherine "Kitty" E. Murphy b. about 1877, Gertrude Murphy b. 1878 and Thomas Vincent b. 1 Jun 1880. (See 4 Generational Family Tree link at the bottom of this page in .pdf format)

(Note:  Thomas Murphy's parents were John Murphy of County Mayo, Ireland (Dec 13, 1799 - Jan 13, 1881)  and Bridget Rogers of Ireland (1811 - Nov 25, 1886).  I found 7 Children for John and Bridget:  Thomas Murphy born May 17, 1837, John J. born about 1839, Julia Ann born about 1837, Margaret L. born about 1846, Michael A. born about 1848, Mary, and Edward.  Thomas Murphy's Siblings.

Services for Miss Katherine E. Murphy, 78, formerly of Waukegan, will be held tomorrow in Pasadena, Cal., where she died Wednesday. Miss Murphy was a former principal of the La Grange elementary school, and taught in Waukegan schools until her retirement in 1925 when she moved to Pasadena. Surviving is a brother, John J.

MISS GERTRUDE MURPHY

Miss Gertrude Murphy, 74, of 1820 Lincoln st., North Chicago, a lifelong Lake county resident who was active in charitable work in the suburb, died yesterday in St. Therese's hospital, Waukegan. Surviving are two brothers, Thomas V. of North Chicago, former member of the Lake county board of supervisors, and Joseph J. of Waukegan, and a sister, Katherine of Los Angeles. Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in Holy Family church, North Chicago.
