The first step in the process is to map the existing or conceptual business model. Many managers talk about business models, but few are able to represent their entire business on the back of an envelope. Not only is the resulting business model map valuable, but the process of mapping the enterprise helps open eyes and create a tool for communication with employees, business partners, and other stakeholders.
With the existing business model map as a baseline, the Wissmann Group uses proprietary tools to tease out opportunities, which can range from product/service innovations and enterprise extensions, to completely new enterprise models.
