Recently, a group of Masters, instructors, students, family, and friends have come together and formed an independent, non-profit organization: “Wisconsin Taekwondo Association, (WTA).”
Our board members have Taekwondo roots that spread across the state and include renowned schools in Eau Claire, Milwaukee, and Stevens Point. Our mission is to increase the quality of Taekwondo athletes, coaches, and referees in the state of Wisconsin. This mission is forward-looking and our goal is to help develop the next generation of athletes, coaches, and referees – something that I’m sure you can support. To this end, our promise to you is that every dollar earned will be reinvested to further the sport and art of Taekwondo in the state of Wisconsin.
For those who may not share the desire to compete for medals and trophies, tournaments can provide opportunities to play an active role in the development of our athletes and help making our art better. Through fair competition, our students learn how to win and lose with respect and dignity a skill that will serve them well inside the dojang and out. Through that same competition, coaches and instructors can meet and learn from each other and strive to make each other better. When your students get better, mine have get better and at the end of the day, that makes us all stronger, not weaker.
The WTA is eager to sanction your event and help make it a success. That sanctioning can include the use of our scoring equipment, floor mats, and assistance in planning and executing the event.
The WTA will be putting together seminars, events, and tournaments and we would like to extend an open invitation to you, your schools, students, and colleagues to participate. Through our combined efforts, our continued dedication to, and love for, the art of Taekwondo, we can accomplish great things for each other and for our students.
Thank you for your fellowship and for taking the time to check us out.
Respectfully yours in Taekwondo,
The WTA Board of Directors
