There are times when it is in the best interest of students to stay home from school due to illness or injury. The following guidelines are intended to assist parents and guardians with the decision to keep their children home:
Antibiotics. Students may come to school if they are being treated with antibiotics if they have been on the medication for 24 hours (usually three doses) and are symptom-free. Please see the medication page for information on receiving medication at school.
Narcotics. Students should not come to school if they are taking narcotic medication (Percocet, Vicodin, Oxycontin, Oxycodone, Codeine, etc.).
Extended Absence. If a student has been absent for five consecutive days or more due to illness or injury a doctor's note is required upon their return to school.
