Description:

Come join me for a fun class that uses strips and an octagon to make an amazing design.  The blocks are 20 1/2" and work up fast.  You will be delighted to see the results!  And you get a baby quilt as a bonus!  I love this fun quilt and hope you do too.

Fabric/Supply List:
Basic Sewing Kit
Ruler 45/90 degree creative grid ruler
1 Jelly Roll or (40) assorted 2 1/2" strips x WOF
1 3/8 yard of accent fabric (I used red)
2 1/4 yards Background (more if you are making it bigger)
1/2 yard binding (more if you are making it bigger)

Cutting List:
JELLY ROLL:
Pair up your jelly roll strips into pairs of similar coloring.  Two pairs of strips plus two accent fabric strips will make one block.  you need 18 pairs of jelly roll strips.

Choose 1 strip for sashing squares.  Cut that strip into (16) 2 1/2" squares.

***You will have 3 strips left over.

ACCENT FABRIC:
Cut (18) 2 1/2" strips x WOF

BACKGROUND:
Cut (3) 9" strips x WOF.  This is to cut out your octagons.
Cut (3) 7" strips x WOF.  Subcut each strip into (6) 7" squares and then cut each of the (18) squares in half diagonally to create (36) corner triangles.
Cut (12) 2 1/2" strips x WOF.  Subcut each strip into (2) 2 1/2" x 21" rectangles.  These are sashing strips.  You will need 24.
