About WPTA

The Winterpock Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is a non-profit, volunteer organization that was established in 2007 and is made up of parents/caregivers, teachers/staff and community members committed to enhancing the educational experience for all children.  All PTA Officers and Executive Board Members are unpaid volunteers who are genuinely concerned about helping WPTA meet and exceed its mission and goals.

Every year the PTA sponsors and coordinates beneficial programs, fun family activities and educational assemblies for all of the students at WES. We have a great team of volunteers who serve our Committees by planning events such as our Spring Carnival and Silent Auction, Teacher Appreciation Week, Enrichment Program, Father/Daughter Dance, Mother/Son Night, Core Values Breakfasts, Donuts for Dads, Running Club, Spirit Nights, Health & Safety Night and so much more.

We provide financial support to our school by purchasing new playground equipment, supplies for the gymnasium, books for the library, promethean boards and computers on wheels for the classrooms, outdoor beautification materials and other gifted items.  We fulfill teacher requests for supplies, books, equipment and additional training that may not be otherwise be provided. 

Our PTA also maintains communication with our school and school community through our PTA Website, Volunteer Coordinator, PTA Newsletter, Room Parent Program, County Council Representative and other resources.  None of this would be possible without your support! Together as a team, we become advocates for our children’s health, welfare, education and safety.

PTA Members are not required to attend meetings or to participate as a volunteer but are certainly encouraged and welcomed to do so. Your PTA membership allows you the privilege to vote on critical PTA business such as adopting the year’s budget and bylaws, electing Executive Committee members and the opportunity to share new ideas and suggestions for consideration of the General Membership. The membership fee is just $8.00 per person or $12.00 per family and includes a student directory, membership discounts to PTA sponsored events and at local businesses, national PTA benefits and the pride of knowing that you are supporting your school.  Membership information for the 2013-2014 school year will come home in Back to School packets.
