How To Use HTML To Publish on Kindle
This book explains in simple steps how to self-publish an ebook on Kindle using html code. Html is Kindle's native language. It is the only way to fix errors if something goes wrong. Submissions work best with html. There is also the need to add specific code in the book's html source in order allow the software to find such things as the table of contents, cover and the start location. If you want to include pictures in your ebook, html is essential and this book explains all the steps of putting pictures into your ebook.

It also explains how to make your own cover using free software programs. It includes instructions on how to make an active Table of Contents and links from your ebook to the web. It explains and illustrates examples of how to use the few simple html codes used by the Kindle format. Working in html gives you total control over your text.

There are only about a dozen html codes that need to be learned and, like everything else, they are easy when you know them. This book is interactively linked so you can find the html you need for any part of the book writing process quickly with instructions and pictures geared to the beginner.

This book comes with a sample template (also at https://sites.google.com/site/windintheroses/myebook) that can be used both to understand how the html code works as well as to paste all your text into and have all the html code already inserted and ready to manipulate to create your book. The book is matched to the template so that you can look up each item in turn to find out how to use or fix it, if necessary.
