Copy the text in the purple box below and then paste it into a Notepad (text) file. Save the file by naming it myebook.html (*not* myebook.txt).

Open the saved html file with any browser such as Firefox or Internet Explorer. You can use the tabbed browser you are currently using to surf the net by opening a new tab and then using File >> Open >> Browse to select the html file on your hard drive.

Once you have opened the html file with a browser, you can see how the various formatting commands and links work. Any text in brackets, such as where it says "Paste your text here", can be deleted and replaced with your own text. If you need more chapters, copy one and change the number.

If you need more detailed information, see my ebook, How to Publish an eBook with Links and Pictures on Amazon Kindle.

It's not necessary to put asterisks (* * *) where ever you put a page break,
some may even call it poor coding, but it does help you see where you have
put a page break. Delete the asterisks or leave them there before you upload
