In the future, I hope to have a download link to a basic GEDCOM file (GEnealogical Data COMmunications) here. A file that would give an accurate jump start on the hundreds of family members in the William Lock(e) tree.
===================================================
The intent of this website is to offer some very basic family heritage about William Lock(e)'s Ancestors and Descendants.
The emphasis is primarily on his descendants since there is little information (confirmed at least) regarding his ancestors.
Descendants will go through about 1924. This is for 3 reasons...
1. Most living family members can trace their ancestors back 90 years or so - so there is less need for information on relatives after 1924.
2. With Identity Theft being such a major problem nowadays - I am hoping that only going through 1924 will prevent someone's "mother's maiden name" being of much use - since they are likely deceased. Even if someone born in 1924 is alive, it is less likely to be a concern regarding identity theft -- at least that is the idea.
3. Alfred Cookman Locke's Booklet - William Locke and his Family was published in 1924.
The real heart of our search is about William Lock(e) -- where he was born and his life through the late 1700's until his death in 1823, plus his descendants through 1924.
For most of the Locke's in our Family Tree, just having the basic research for these ancestors will be a huge head start in their journey to learn about William
Lock(e) and his descendants.
I will update the information on the website periodically - likely with long pauses as I get involved with other activities -- but I hope you will find useful the information that is present on the website.
I wish you enjoyment as you learn about your family history and the William Lock(e) Clan.
