I am passionate about biology and educating young adults. I try to infuse my excitement into my classes in order to engage students in the scientific process while increasing their understanding about the world around us.

I enjoy teaching science to students from diverse backgrounds and majors. I teach a variety of general education courses intended to increase student awareness and understanding of environmental issues facing our society today from a variety of perspectives.

One of my motivations is preparing future scientists through upper level biology courses. Being a professor at a smaller liberal arts college allows me to teach a variety of courses aimed at ensuring students be proficient and knowledgable about many subject areas.
