RSPB volunteering opportunities

The RSPB speaks out for birds and wildlife, tackling the problems that threaten our environment.

I don't know anything about birds

You don’t have to be a bird expert to volunteer for us. There are many ways that you can get involved with our work, and if you don't know a robin from a redwing, it really doesn't matter.

How can I volunteer?

·         your home

·         join an RSPB local group

·         in your local community

·         outdoors or indoors on our nature reserves

·         at your nearest RSPB office

·         volunteer abroad

Residential Volunteering

Residential volunteering is your chance to have a break, try something new or get some experience.

There are over 40 different places to stay and hundreds of things to do. You can spend a week or more on a reserve, and you can do it alone or bring a friend. The RSPB will provide you with accommodation, new skills and some great memories, to find out more about opportunities available visit
