Note: I have the luxury of two HDDs. Since they are IDE ATA drives, I have them jumpered to CABLE SELECT. I was then able to install Ubuntu to the drive in the Master position and afterward, set up GRUB2 to handle the dual booting between Ubuntu and Windows. When booting into Windows, GRUB remaps the HDDs--hda0 = hda1 and hda1 = hda 0--on the computer and Windows starts. I have Windows set as my default OS.
