Vision enabled computer Games : implementation of a Virtual Badminton Trainer

The goal of this research, “Vision Enabled Computer Games: Implementation of a Virtual Badminton Trainer” is to design an interactive badminton game.  But unlike normal computer games, where input to the game is given via keyboard, mouse, and etc., in this case inputs are received through vision. The player will stand in front of a digital video camera, which is connected, to a computer. The movements of the badminton racket are detected by the computer and generate a virtual shuttlecock. The player will play against this virtual shuttlecock. The major areas of this research are image processing and computer games. Main technologies I used are;

  • Microsoft Visual C++
  • Microsoft DirectX
  • Microsoft Direct Show
  • Matlab
