Welcome to Wickham Society

The Wickham Society was formed in 1984 as an independent voice and “watchdog” on local matters.
We also hold around six meetings per year with speakers on topics of local interest and also organise outdoor activities.

We seek to influence :
  • Winchester’s proposed Local Development option for 250 new homes in the village, changing its character significantly
  • Fareham's Strategic Development Area proposals to site up to 6000 new homes and associated employment space on the fields between the M27 and Wickham, with attendant new road links and pressure on local infrastructure
  • Affordable houses and their location
  • The care and upkeep of local environmental amenities such as Wickham Common, the Water Meadows and the old railway line and its bridges.
If you share the same strong sense of community and location which make Wickham and Knowle such special places to live, why not join us
