Diaper Awareness Week

Diaper Awareness Week

September 25-October 1, 2016

North Carolina Governor Patrick McCrory has proclaimed the week of          September 8th-14th as Diaper Awareness week. This week citizens are encouraged to donate generously to diaper banks, organizations such as “Who Needs a Change? of the High Country” that  distribute diapers to families in need.  What is diaper need? Diaper need is the lack of a sufficient supply of diapers to keep an infant or toddler clean, dry and healthy. 1 in 3 American families struggle with diaper need, not having enough diapers for their baby. Diaper Awareness Week draws attention to this consequence of poverty. Governors and mayors are issuing proclamations to show support.  Who Needs a Change? of the High Country like other diaper banks rely on the generosity of the community for financial support and diaper donations. Please show your support on Diaper Awareness Week, September 8th-14th and help children in your community by donating diapers to your local diaper bank or by making a financial donation. When making a financial donation please make check to: The Children’s Council of Watauga County and in the memo line write: “Who Needs a Change”

Please bring all diaper donations to:
