The goal of this boat project was to build the most buoyant boat in the class. The first thing that we did was that we learned about how buoyant force acts upon an object. So, we figured out that if the buoyant force of our boat is more than the mass, than it will float more. (and hold more!) . The next thing we did was start building our boat. We aimed for a big hollow space in the middle. That way, it will have less density and float more. Later, after our boat was built, we started testing. Our boat, Boaty, held 3,055 grams worth of pennies. That means that the buoyant force of Boaty is about 3,055 grams up. That was the highest in the class. I think that this project was successful!
