Canadian Whisky: Mac Na Braca

Andrew Walls of the Victoria Caledonia distillery pranced to the front of the room with a kilt and a smile, cheekily asking “Let’s try some juice, shall we?”.

  • Cask(s): American white oak seasoned with Portuguese dry red wine. Re-charred post wine.
  • Chill Filtration: No
  • Caramel Colouring: No

Mac Na Braca is not yet a whisky. It’s a single malt that Victoria Caledonia is currently selling by the cask. I’ll admit to being enchanted by Andrew and his storytelling as I didn’t appear to make any notes relating to nose or palate. Actually, I’ll need to use that line for most of the whiskies I tasted. I was so new at note taking that I forgot to write down the most important bits.
