Just after the Summer of 1967, a group of young men – well some just boys really still wearing their custard splattered school blazers – met for the first time behind a technical college in Walthamstow, London E17. No, it was not the beginnings of a famous boy-band but a group of potential architects about to start a 7 year course that would introduce them to this profession. In the fifth year of this course the year-tutor, rather than naming it the fifth year, gave the the year the name of "Club 5" and some of this group continued to use this name for reunions long into their retirement.
