Dear hockey friends,

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you on our website of the 7th GM Hockey World Cup in the Hague.

Already a year ago we started planning and organizing the programme to make this event successful.

We formed an enthousiastic  hosting Committee of well experienced persons. Consisting of members of the WGMA and hockey clubs HC 60+ and HC Klein Zwitserland (HCKZ).

The registration for national and touring teams is now closed and we are proud to inform you that 56 teams from 16 different countries have been registered for the National and Tournament Trophy competitions combined.

Grand Masters Hockey is going from strength to strength. There will be competitions in the 60+, 65+, 70+ and 75+ age groups.

Our WGMA tournament in The Hague will be the largest one ever with more than 1200 players, coaches, managers, judges and umpires, not counting all the partners yet, who will no doubt be travelling with the teams to the beautiful town of The Hague.

For the first time 3 national women’s teams (60+) will also be present and they will play in Rotterdam as part of the IMHA Tournament.

We will play the games at HCKZ which is situated between The Hague and the seaside resort of Scheveningen.

The club was founded in 1908 and is one of the oldest hockey clubs in the Netherlands. It has a rich history of top hockey combined with the typical Dutch family hockey atmosphere. The club has one of the most picturesque grounds of the country with three sand dressed pitches and two brand new FIH World Cup quality water based pitches.

This website will be in full operation with relevant information. And during the tournament it will be updated every day with the results of the games and ranking positions of the teams.

Simultaneously with the WGMA event, the FIH Men’s and Women’s World Championship will be held in The Hague (31 May – 15 June).

During those two weeks, The Hague will be the centre of the Hockey World.

I wish to extend a hearty welcome to you all in The Hague, also incidentally the year that our ‘HC 60+’ club will celebrate its 25th anniversary. See you in Holland, the place to be for everybody who loves hockey!!

On behalf of the Host Nation Organizing Committee

With Kind Regards,

Wim van Noortwijk
Chairman
