Match Reports And Blogs

  • Sunny's Summary T20 WGCC vs KECC at Weston Park March 30th 2014 Batting was solid even after loosing Prady on the 1st ball but we can still do better. We threw our wickets very cheaply, we all understand the format of the game 20/20 but it doesn't mean you go hit every ball even we have wickets in hand, we need to wait for the loose ball and keep taking singles. Bowling was average and fielding was disappointing we dropped simple catches, we need to really give catching an important role in our practice session. The 20/20 season is over so let's now concentrate on our 35 over games. Let's try to play better cricket and improve fast what mistakes we had done. Special thanks to Neil ...

  • Sunny's Summary T20 WGCC vs TLCC at Harvell Park March 29th 2014 Tough loss for us, now when I think about it we should have chosen to bat first cause it just became very difficult to bat in that condition with constant rain but if I take out the positives we did fight hard. Let's keep this attitude for the big games coming up. Our bowling was little sloppy giving lot of extras which was more than the runs we needed, hope we can come back getting better and learn from our mistakes. Batting was good we tried our best but with that rain and ball slowing down was not easy to hit. Tlcc is in our group and we will be playing 2 matches with them lets show them how ...

  • Match Report T20 WGCC vs TLCC at Harvel Park March 29 2014 by Harrish1st of the 2 games of the weekend and a must win game for WGCC in order to qualify for the playoffs. After rain on Friday and more rain predicted for Saturday, it was doubtful if the match would take place. But TLCC had done a great job by covering the wicket and the bowler run up. The match started an hour late and WGCC won the toss and elected to field. Zeeshan started off with an excellent over but TLCC openers got off to a great start after that and scored 50 runs during the PP. Captain Sunny’s blinder gave us the 1st break through in the 7th over. Prady picked up another ...

  • Match report T20 WGCC vs KECC at Weston Park March 30 2014 by TarunWell, it was a chilly day with winds at 25mph whole day and we selected to bat after winning the toss. We lost our tough wicket (Prady) on the very first ball of the innings but our top order batsmen maintained their astonishing performance to give us a good start. Rahul played some magnificent shots and scored 50+ runs which was a great addition to total of 160 runs. As usual, once again our captain showed us his excellence in batting and added many runs with a great partnership with Rahul. He would not have played that shot where he was caught if someone from audience had shouted “Sunny you are on 45”. LOL.  Being a bowler, Shami ...

  • Match Report T20 WGCC vs HPCC at Weston Park March 22 2014 By Sinu NairAny game against HPCC is never easy. We have to be on top of our game as they will punish you unerringly. Sunny won the toss and put the opposition in. Rahul was behind the stumps in place of the usual suspects Sinu and Dipen. With Fayyaz and Wasif opening, Sunny went in to bowl the first over and we got off to the worst possible start. 17 runs came off the first over and HPCC were on their way. Within no time, the raced to a 48 run opening partnership in less than 5 overs as our opening bowlers were put to the sword. Amar provided the decisive breakthrough in over no 5 by getting Fayyaz ...
