2020 Hall of Fame Winner - Mary Riordan

Ladies, this year it was my job to oversee a committee to pick our next Hall of Famer, and I want to thank that committee for their wonderful help. They were Marilyn Fabits, Sara Huff, Barb Forsythe, and Bev Larsen. I think we have made a fantastic choice for this year. However, we had several wonderful nominees from which to choose and if your nominee didn't make it this year, I hope you will consider resubmitting that nominee.
This year's selection was based on the following qualifications:
She has been Vice President and President, and Chairman of Special Tournaments, Scoring, and Play It Forward.
She has served on the following committees: Advertising, Pairings, Scoring, Rules, Closest to the Pin, Membership/Big Sister, Handicap, and Special Tournaments. She held many of these positions for multiple years.
She has served on the POA Golf Committee and no matter the task she is always willing to help. She made it her mission to help ladies enjoy golf into their senior years by starting the Play It Forward campaign and worked with all the courses setting tees and promoting the program, and for this I am extremely grateful, as I'm sure many of you are. She knew this needed to be done for the benefit of every current and future member of our club.
She had holes-in-one in 2016, 2017, and 2018, and was Senior Low Gross Champion in 2017.
She is always upbeat and it's a pleasure to be paired with her. She represents our league with pride and never fails to ask a new resident if they want to join.

Linda Horn has first Hole-in-One!
"I have been golfing since I was 4 and never had a hole-in-one, it was on my bucket list. I said how appropriate I am 75 and the hole was 75 yards and was on the first course I ever played in Bella Vista. Believe I might have been in shock the next 4 holes and then realized I was using the ball, so I put it away so I wouldn’t lose it. Then danced the rest of the way around the course. Yeah whooo!"
On June 7, 2020, Linda used a Cobra 9 iron to hit her Volvik in the hole on #9 at the Highlands. Witnesses were: Ray Horn, Kevin Fischer, and Marla Fischer. Congratulations, Linda!!
Mary Bendickson has Hole-in-One!
Mary Bendickson had a Hole-in-One on Thursday, June 25, on #7 at Kingswood. Witnesses were Maggie Peterson, Karen Brashears, and Linda Ekiss. Karen said, "Not sure any of us saw it because we were talking. LOL! We got on the green and Karen looked in the hole and there it was. " Congratulations, Mary!
Jan Holm has 6th Hole-in-One!
Jan Holm had her sixth hole-in-one on Thursday, August 13th!!! She used her 6 hybrid to land her ball softly on hole #2 at Country Club. Once it landed on the green, it rolled straight at the pin with her group going crazy cheering for the ball to drop ... and it did!!!!! Congratulations, Jan!
Dori Clement has Hole-in-One!
Dori made a hole in one on #10 @ Kingswood at the MGA/WGC tournament on Tuesday, September 15, 2020. Julie Deihl, Harry Tiffany, and Tom Prout were witnesses. "I hit a sweet 7 iron which bounced a couple of times and rolled into a back cup! Lots of WooHoo and hollering, followed with social distancing fist pumps to celebrate!" Congratulations, Dori!!
Judy Lemoine has 2nd Hole-in One!
Judy Lemoine had her 2nd Hole in One Thursday, October 8th, at the BVCC on hole #6. She used an Adams Idea #5 hybrid club and a yellow Callaway Supersoft ball. Witnesses were Flo Steckel and Jeanne Hartman.
"When we approached the green, I was looking all around for my ball. I thought, heck, I must have gone off the back somewhere. Then Jeanne said, “I think I see the top of your yellow ball in the hole!” Sure enough, there it was!” Congratulations Judy!

Congratulations to the 2020 WGC Club Champions! Penny Williams was the Red Low Gross Champion, while Liz Adams took the title for the Red Low Net Championship.
Sara Landstrum was the Low Gold Gross Champion and Jane Rowland won the Gold Low Net Championship.
