The 2018 Spring Bunch, Mad Hatter Madness, delivered on it's crazy theme with attendance well over 100, a fashion show of the new apparel items available at the awesome Country Club Pro Shop, great giveaways from Acura and Arvest Bank, 15 new members and much more.

Penny Williams and Brenda Dandy, along with the Social Committee, planned and decorated Riordan Hall for the event.  The delicious brunch was provided by Papa Mike's. Our guests included Steve Morrow from Allens, Ethan Duncan from Acura of Fayetteville and Kelli Lawrence, Ellen Shelley's daughter.  The staff from Golf Operations joined us including Phillip Wright, Darryl Muldoon, Gavin Smith, Alex Sanford, Bruce Fleming, Paul Gomez, Kristi Johnson and Leslie Terry.

Biddy kicked off the meeting with a drawing of a free 3-day rental from Acura of Fayetteville.  It's a good thing she didn't draw, because out of the magic hat popped Biddy's name.  Arvest Bank donated a beautiful, blue golf bag, which was
given away.

Phillip discussed some of the upcoming events sponsored by the POA.  These include Sand & Suds, April 10th and Kingswood, Golf Fest, Get Golf Ready, Get Golf Ready 2, the Jr. Programs and upcoming tournaments.  Links for the Bella Vista Open and 2-Person Women's Eclectic Tournament are on the home page.

The group was then presented with a fashion show of some of the new styles available at the Bella Vista Country Club.  The new clubhouse opened on the 29th.  There is a wide variety of women's coordinated outfits and basics in a variety of price ranges.  The pro shop also carries shoes, balls and a wide variety of accessories.

Biddy started the business meeting.  After approving the Minutes and Treasurer's Report, the Nominating Committee was announced. Barb Carlson, Robyn Wolters, and Peggy Crabtree will be asking members to volunteer for leadership roles in 2019.  Please say 'YES". Biddy recognized the past presidents, the Officers, and the Committee Chairs.

This year we have 15 new members. The Big Sisters introduced their Little Sisters and welcomed them to the WGC.  New Member information is available on the website.  Unfortunately, our after-brunch golf outing
was canceled due to the recent flood.

Ellen Shelley reviewed the Directory and introduced our new format for Bring a Friend Day on May 24th. She also reminded the group that logo'd merchandise was available for order.  The final order this year will be June 1.

Vicki Styles, our NWA Rep, discussed some of the tournaments available through our membership in the area.  Flyers for Regional tournaments are posted on the About Us page on the BVWGC website.

Biddy made several announcements before she closed the meeting.
  • Fundraiser at Blu Fish House and Raw Bar on April 6th starting at 4.
  • We will be having  Gusano’s after golf when we play Dogwood
  • Match Play Madness will be as was last year - Karen, Claudia, Anne
  • Invited 9-holers to play with us at Firecracker
A good time was had by all.  See you at Dogwood, next Thursday, April 5th for our first playdate.
