BVWGC supported Veterans at the 2nd POA Veteran's Day Tournament

Members of the WGC were active in the 2nd Annual POA Veteran's Day Tournament held November 11, 2017 at Kingswood and Country Club Golf Courses.  The tournament raised over $6,000 for local veterans at the Fayetteville Veteran's Home.  Volunteers from the WGC staffed the registration tables, beer cart and served lunch.

36 teams played and the WGC was well represented up and down the tee sheet.  The format was the 'Lone
Soldier' where two scores were counted on each hole.  One score was the designated 'Lone Soldier' that rotated throughout the round, and the other score was the best score from the remaining players.   Each player could also buy "Emergency Rations" for a $10 donation.  This included 1
Mulligan, 1 Move Up One Tee, 1 Automatic One-Putt and 1 Relief from Hazard.  The use of 'Emergency Rations' involved quite a bit of strategy.  Alas, no one won the Hole-in-One prizes of a $5,000 Dream Vacation or $5,000 cash.

Scores ranged from 130 to 181.  WGC Members Penny Williams and Brenda Dandy took home 3rd place along with teammates Donald Deal and Jerry Dill. It was a fun day for a good cause.  Put this tournament on your calendar for next year and help support our local veterans.
