(continued from Page 1) Craig Pittman has won top awards for his environmental journalism articles six times. He has also received three first-place awards for his magazine articles. He is the author of four books, including the 2017 Florida Book Award gold-medalist novel "Oh Florida!! How America’s Weirdest State Influences the Rest of the Country." He is a Pensacola native and former reporter for the Pensacola News Journal.

Leanna Conley has been involved in diverse arts fields, including theater, writing, comedy, and illustration. She has worked at Pensacola venues including SoftRock 94.1, “Bella” magazine, coached public speaking through her "Stand Up To Speak" seminars, and is currently writing “The Janet Chronicles,” about life with her stage mother.. Conway is a comedienne who performed with Tim Meadows and Chris Farley at Second City, and was also a writer for Dennis Miller Live. She currently lives in Pensacola.

Erik Deckers is a professional writer, and has been a newspaper humor columnist since 1994; Laughing Stalk is published in ten newspapers. He has written several radio and stage plays, and is the co-author of four social media books. Erik was also the Spring 2016 writer-in-residence at the Jack Kerouac House in Orlando., and currently on their board of directors. He can find Pensacola on a map.

The Pensacola "String Farm Band," which plays bluegrass and Old Time Gospel, will play at the Artel during the break between the writing workshops and readings. The performance will be free and open to the public from 6 p.m., and available to WFLF members and workshop participants beginning at 5 p.m.

WFLF is urging workshop attendees to continue the humor quest by discovering "Weird (Funny) Florida" through self-guided tours, which WFLF is coordinating with T.T. Wentworth Museum, UWF’s Historic Trust,  and Pensacola Little Theater. Workshop participants will receive free admission for most tours.

WFLF hosted acclaimed New York authors Barbara Henning annd Lewis Warsh in November 2016 for "Writing Off the Wall," a four-day series of workshops, gallery readings plus an interview brunch with the writers. The series was funded with a grant from ACE, Inc.for Foo Foo Fest. Photos by Rowan Born
