Weston Concerts 2024
We are looking forward to our season of concerts this year and hope you will save the dates - please note that some of our concerts are not on Saturday nights. This year we are focussing on young and emerging talent, including prize winners and competition finalists.
We continue to present high quality musicians at affordable prices in an intimate setting - a financial model which does not work unless we receive limited grants or donations. One way to help is by becoming a member, for just £1 per month, which you can do by visiting the Membership page.
Friday 30th August: Laura Lootens (guitar)
Holy Trinity Church, Weston. 7.30 pm
Laura Lootens has been selected by Classic FM as one of their 30 'Rising Stars of 2024'. Having played the guitar since the age of eight, she was awarded a scholarship from the German Music Competition for all instruments. Her concert career took off following her performance at the Gasteig, Munich, in the internationally acclaimed ‘Winners and Masters’ series. She went on to win the coveted Andres Segovia International Classical Guitar Competition in Spain in 2022, scoring a further success when the renowned German Music Competition selected her for a scholarship; on the same occasion, she was awarded the Special Prize of the German Musikleben Foundation.
