The development of juniors has been a priority for West Linton Tennis Club for many years. A great deal of effort has been made by coaches like Heather Robertson ( now retired) and Marc Kinsey in encouraging and getting players involved at a very young age, and providing tennis lessons for them throughout their primary school years.
Older juniors, from P7 to S6, are able to play for the junior teams of the club (see teams), and if skills and commitment permit, they may be selected to become involved with district (Tennis Borders) training sessions and match opportunities.
At West Linton Tennis Club, a wide range of coaching sessions are now available with varying objectives and skills levels. Please contact any of the coaches for further information.

Teen Tennis (Monday evenings between 7.30 and 8.30 p.m.)

In addition to coaching, West Linton Tennis Club runs a term time Teen Tennis session for all teenage (13-18 years) players who are either members of the club or thinking about joining the club. This is a social session, encouraging players at all levels to come and enjoy tennis with their friends.

The tennis programme at West Linton Tennis Club have been extended in the past few years to meet the growing demand for additional junior and adult coaching sessions.

Marc Kinsey launched MK Tennis in 2015, following on from "Tennis - Pure and Simple" (T-PAS) with the aim of delivering coaching sessions at West Linton and other Tweeddale clubs for a series of age groups including Reds (ages 5 to 7), Orange (ages 8 to 9), Green (age 10) and Yellow groups (LTA structure) as well as providing lessons for adult beginners and improvers. MK Tennis has now planned to deliver tennis camps during the holidays, and term time tennis coaching for juniors on Thursdays and for adults on Thursday, Friday and Sundays.
