Library Scavenger Hunt

2012-13

This scavenger hunt is meant as a basic introduction to the library.  The goal is for you to get to know the library and computer resources we have so you can better decide which to use when you need an answer to a question, even if the question is “Where’s a good book I can read?”

You do not have to work on the questions in order.

Please remember to work quietly and efficiently!

1.    Politely introduce yourself to your librarian.  Spell the librarian’s name correctly.

 

2.    Locate and browse through the biography section and list one title you’d like to read. 

 

3.    Browse through the fiction section, and list the name of one author whose last name starts with the same letter as your last name.

 

4.    Navigate to our Library Catalogue name Destiny.  Find an available computer, log on to 2x Terminal, erase ‘student e’, type in ‘ms _ _’, type in ‘ep06’ for the password, and click ‘Ok’.  On your student desktop find ‘WFSD Library’, double click on the icon, click on ‘West Fresno Middle School Library’.  How many books are written by Margaret Peterson Haddix that is in our library?  Write down 2 titles.

 

  1. What is the Accelerated Reader (AR) reading level of the book Wereling by Steve Feasey? [HINT: Library Catalogue]

 

 

6.    Write down 2 library titles in our library that are found within your AR reading level? [HINT: Library Catalogue>Narrow Your Search To>Reading Programs>Accelerated Reader>AR Level]

 

7.    Where is the pencil sharpener?

 

8.    How many books can you have checked out at one time?
