Puppies

"Deluxe Farm Dog" - All have found homes :)

We have a litter of puppies born 3/21/21 to our Border Collie "Daisy" by our dog "Rosco." Since the five breeds contributing to their DNA are a bit much to mash together to get a designer dog breed name, I'm calling them Deluxe Farm Dogs. This particular mix is a one time occurrence as Rosco has his neuter date scheduled (shhh....don't mention it to him ;).

Daisy is a purebred, registered Border Collie. Rosco is a four way mix of German Shephard, Jack Russell Terrier, Blue Heeler and Walking Tree Cattle dog. Rosco is both the highest energy and most trainable dog I've met. Daisy is a delight too. She's full of energy, has a high herding drive, has been very trainable and loves to cuddle when her work is done.

These puppies will need a lot of active time. That could be through having a "job" on the farm, being a hiking/running buddy or taking part in agility classes. I believe these puppies will be highly adaptable but I can not overstate their energy level and likely herding drive enough. Both Mom and Dad had pretty nippy puppy stages as their instincts told them they should herd anything that moves. that includes children, chickens, strangers legs and farm critters. They are both quick learners and when consistent and firm corrections and/or redirection, they outgrew this stage but I assume their pups will likely be very similar.

Our kids have petitioned to keep all FIVE puppies but we have bargained down to ONE staying on our farm. That leaves four others, three boys and a girl to find new families. We are asking a $350 fee to ensure that choosing one of these pups is a thoughtful decision and to cover our vet expenses.

I'll add more pictures of individual puppies soon.
