Battenkill Pony Club, established in 1994, meets in Cambridge, NY and has an active membership of ~20 children. With members from Washington and Rensselaer counties in NY and Arlington and Bennington VT, Battenkill is the southern most club in Western New England region.  Battenkill PC members meet on horseback twice a month, April through November, at Chestnut Ridge Stable in Cambridge. Chestnut Ridge has large indoor and outdoor arenas, miles of trails and dirt roads and a BN/Novice level cross country course.  In winter months, members meet at Liberty Ridge Farm in Stillwater NY, for unmounted meetings devoted to horse management instruction. Battenkill PC offers a three day camp each summer, with guest instructors and our summer rating day incorporated. It is the highlight of the summer activities. Members range in age from 8 – 21 yrs of age, and hold ratings from D1 to HB. Battenkill members and graduates have competed in dressage, eventing, show jumping and tetrathlon rallies. Battenkill has sent qualified members to compete at nationals for many years. With a large member base, our older members are able to mentor the younger members, and gain valuable teaching experience. Emphasis at pony club is placed on safety, and thoughtful horsemanship. DC Denise Film is a graduate "A" pony clubber, and is the head riding instructor. Outside professional instructors are utilized often throughout the riding season. For more information, contact Denise Film at JD8650@aol.com.

Charlotte Pony Club
Charlotte, VT

Established in 1955, the Charlotte Pony Club (CPC) members are from Addison, Chittenden and Grand Isle counties and range in age from 7 to 21 years old.  CPC meets every Monday throughout the summer for mounted and unmounted meetings; our focus is on horsemanship and safety.  Our riders participate in Eventing, which includes dressage, stadium jumping and cross-country training. New this summer, we will be meeting at High Wind Farm, a beautiful cross country schooling facility in Monkton, Vermont.  Our instructors are John Bourgoin and Andrea Waldo.  Just down the road we also have access to beautiful Arbrook farm (owned by John and Alice Bourgoin) where we will school dressage, and have use of a state of the art indoor arena and will hold some clinics and mounted meetings.  Charlotte Pony Club hosts a Horse Trials held on the Sunday over Labor Day weekend each summer.  We offer a friendly starter course (perfect for new eventers or green horses) up through Novice/Training, complete with water complex.  For more information about our club, or how to join, please visit our website.

Rutland, VT

Rutland County Pony Club was established in January of 2010 with an active and growing group of Pony Clubbers plus a Horsemasters group of adults. Both groups collaborate to host several shows, clinics, and events, as well as 1-2 mounted rallies per month year round.  Several qualified instructors donate their time helping members from beginners to advanced.  We fundraise to support members competing at regional and national Pony Club competitions.  We meet at several barns with indoor arenas and enjoy two cross-country courses, where our riders school and host competitions.  Most of our members compete in dressage, eventing, and hunter/jumper shows.  We hope to add some other activities Pony Club offers like Tetrathlon, Games, and Polo Crosse.  We are open to Pony Clubbers age 5-25; our Horsemasters group is open to adults of any age.  If you’d like to learn about either of our groups, please contact Andrea Hathaway-Miglorie at 802-345-9257.
