Tex Ritter's hits include "Rye Whiskey" (1931), "Boll Weevil" (1945), "Wayward Wind," "Hillbilly Heaven," "You Are My Sunshine" (1946), and "High Noon" (1952).
Tex Ritter's comic career began when Fawcett published Tex Ritter #1, dated October 1950 (see below). The last Fawcett issue was #20, dated January 1954. As with many other Fawcett titles, Tex's comic was continued by Charlton Comics beginning with issue #21, dated March 1954. It lasted through issue #46, dated May 1959 (see below). Tex’s starring B-western days were over in 1945, so the comics were trading on his lasting popularity through TV reruns of his Grand National, Monogram, Columbia, Universal and PRC series
