Westchester Area Math Circle (WAMC) seeks to create a place where people can gather to enjoy math together. We also send teams to various math competitions.
Adults, high school students, college students, and motivated middle school students from the greater Westchester area are welcome to attend. No fees, no registration. Just show up!
WAMC was founded by high school students Simon Zheng, James Drain, Andrew Guo, Alex Mun, and Alex Lin in 2012. Alarmed by the lack of local resources in Westchester County, New York for students as interested in math as they were, they formed a math circle. In fall of 2012, WAMC reached out to Connecticut. We are a member of the National Association of Math Circles.
In 2013, the founders graduated high school and moved away. Paul Ellis took over and has been running it ever since. He is a Professor of Mathematics at Manhattanville College. The college graciously hosts our math circle meetings for free.
