Saturday, May 3, 2014 6-10pm. Pre-Cinco de Mayo Westchase Pub Crawl. Dust off your maracas and find those sombreros in your attic for this year's pre-Cinco de Mayo Westchase Rotary Club Pub Crawl. The fiesta will begin at the corner of Linebaugh and Montague and take you through many local restaurants and watering holes. Please stay tuned for more info to come. Proceeds will support local charities in your community.

Saturday, January 11, 2014 9 am to 1pm THANK YOU! Your community support helped us collect over 80 bikes. The bikes will be restored and distributed to those in need. Special thanks to Westchase Pizza & Pasta Co, Flying Fish Bikes, and God's Pedal Power. God's Pedal Power Ministry is a team of volunteers who distribute over 1,500 bicycles per year year.

November 24, 2013 at 1pm. The Westchase Rotary supported the Westchase Food Drive. We unloaded, we sorted, we packed and we bumped elbows with fellow Rotarians and other Westchase residents. Mike and Deb Gilbert founded One City Ministries in 2008 – trusting God as, they say, when He told them to “go.” With a global impact in mind OCM is focused on creating a sustainable community prototype in Uganda while sharing the message of God’s love and His restorative powers. www.onecityministries.org

September 13, 2013. Teams of our Rotarian members worked four shifts to help pack 100,000 meals for Feeding Children Everywhere. This is a charity that empowers and mobilizes people to assemble healthy meals for hungry children. www.feedingchildreneverywhere.com/

Monday, August 19th, 2013 arrive before 6:30pm: Volunteer at Amazing Love Minstries 2801 N 17th St  Ybor City, FL 33605
Amazing Love Ministries, Inc. was founded in March, 2005. It has grown from feeding 20 homeless people in downtown Tampa to feeding 150-200 people. They serve every Monday evening at 7:00 PM. Amazing Love is served and supported by volunteers from the Tampa Bay area. Besides a hot meal and drinks, people are also given a bag lunch to take with them.The ministry provides many of the items that people need to live on the street: clothing, backpacks, shoes, blankets, toiletries, etc

Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at 7:30am. Guest Speaker: Jim Harmon, executive director of Rotary’s Camp Florida. Rotary’s Camp Florida is an 21 acre, non-profit organization that caters to children with special needs and challenges. The camp is located in Brandon Florida, nestled between two lakes, and canopied by grand oak trees. The camp offers both day and overnight rentals, as the facility has a host of necessary structures to aid in our goal of supplying a pleasant and satisfactory visit. Rotary’s Camp Florida consists of: air conditioned cabins that sleep a total of 50-100 individuals, kitchen, dining hall, assembly hall, library, pavilion, fire pit, boating, and a pool.

The Rotary club will be calling out numbers and giving out gifts and prizes to the Bingo contestants. Donations of Backpack and School Suppliies for needy children receive the first bingo game free. We did this last year and it was a really fun evening. There are quite some characters at Ashton Gardens. Refreshments and Hor's d oeuvres will be served

Saturday, June 22, 2013 9am. Roadway cleanup Countryway Blvd from Linebaugh to Racetrack. We had a good group and some new litter pick-up grabbers to help bueatify our roadway here in Westchase. Thanks to all who joined us in helping make our cummunity a better place. This event was followed by a brunch at one of our generous Rotarian's homes.

Pre-Cinco de Mayo Westchase Pub Crawl.  THANK YOU to all that supported us this yesr! Well over 300 local residents, friends, and family dusted off their maracas and donned sombreros for this year's pre-Cinco de Mayo Westchase Rotary Club Pub Crawl. The fiesta began at the corner of Linebaugh and Montague and took crawlers through the local restaurants and watering holes. The Rotary club will be calling out numbers and giving out gifts and prizes to the Bingo contestants. Donations for Alpha House of Tampa (supporting homeless pregnant women) receive the first bingo game free. This is a really fun evening for the whole family. There are quite some characters at Ashton Gardens. Refreshments and Hor's d oeuvres will be served.

Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at 7:30 a.m.  Guest speaker Alberto Morillo from the Tampa West Latin Rotary Club visited to tell us about Nicaraguan Christian Relief Ministries. http://www.nicaraguarelief.net/ For the past 15 years they have tirelessly gathered donations of clothing, food and medical and educational supplies.

Thursday, February 21, 2013.  Burger 21 Charity event. We were the Burger 21 February Charity of the month. Thank you to all that joined us at Burger 21 where they donated a percentage of their sales to help us toward our fund raising efforts. Our fund raising allow us to help many local organizations in the Westchase and Tampa areas. Burger 21 is at 9664 West Linebaugh Ave. Westchase, FL 33626

February 9th, 2013, Road Cleanup on Countryway Blvd.   Thank you to all those that turned out to help beautify our community. We can certainly say that the road looks better from Linebaugh to Race Track Rd.

February 6th, 2013, Guest speaker from WheelChairs 4 Kids.   Please come hear from the Executive Director Madeline Robinson. The Wheelchairs 4 Kids mission is to improve the lives of children with limited mobility by providing wheelchairs, ramps, and other adaptive devices.  www.wheelchairs4kids.org

Saturday, November 10, Rotary Rides So Kids Can Read District Fund Raiser is scheduled for in beautiful Bartow,  Floida during their city-wide Gala Crafts Fair, Car Show, Kiddie Rides, etc., etc. The funds raised go towards the purchase of over thirty thousand  dictionaries for every elementary fourth grade child in our District. This is our District's SIGNATURE PROJECT, and children/parents throughout the District benefit. Please email HERE for more info.  

Friday, October 19, 2012 at 6:00 p.m.   Westchase Food Truck Gathering and Political Candidate Mingle. Please come enjoy the food and mingle with local candidates. This is a great time for a family outing that mixes with a political theme. Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at 7:30 a.m. Robert Brookover is the author of Wish is My Master, a four-part series spanning the Civil War era. Mr Brookover will present a unique historical perspective regarding some of the the struggles and joys of this era. His lifelong interest in the American Civil War began at the age of seven during a trip with his grandparents to Gettysburg. In 1960, as the war’s centennial commemorations began he sought every opportunity to listen to and witness historical presentations that depicted the soldier’s life. More information can be found at www.robertbrookover.com

Saturday, January 7th, 2012 Bike Collection for God's Petal Power. Flying Fish Bikes 13038 Race Track Road  Tampa, FL 33626. Come out and donate your unused bikes in any condition.

    UPDATE: We collected over 85 bikes for those in need. 

God's Pedal Power Ministry (GPPM), is a Faith Based, totally non-profit organization, run by a multi-denominational group of volunteers who are dedicated to helping kids and adults in need. Starting in 1997, GPPM has refurbished and given away thousands of bicycles for people who have been referred to our ministry.  Along with the bike, the new owner is given a positive message along with bike safety advice.

Thursday October 6, 2011 our club will fund and serve the residents of the Ronald McDonald House with a warm meal and fellowship. the Ronald McDonald House is a place where family members stay at while their children are receiving life-saving treatments at local hospitals. This is a simple project which is not too labor intensive and a wonderful way to share some compassion with parents whose world has been turned on its side with their preoccupation for their sick child.

Thursday August 18, 2011, We will host another Westchase Rotary Sunset Meeting at Tijuana Flats. Anthony Zupo( proprietor) will be offering $2.00 beers, possibly Coronas. Good thing they have no Tequila! The plan is to have a very brief meeting consisting of some Rotary Club information, followed by mingling. We will hopefully pass out the rest of the awards to our Pub Crawl sponsors. Please tell a friend.

Tuesday August 16, 2011 a team from our club will be serving food at Trinity Cafe from 11:30 til 1:30 p.m. Trinity Cafe serves hot protein-rich meals to a couple of hundred needy citizens each day. Generally, the scope of our efforts will be concentrated in seating and serving the cafe's clients in a dignified, "restaurant-style" fashion. Rotarians and Rotarian friends alike are welcome to join us on that day. Just let us know if you can make it please.
