Through the Workforce Investment Act, we are currently recruiting for the summer youth employment program in South Sacramento and will be working with 16-21 year olds. For the summer program, 30 students will be selected and provided with 200 hours of paid training at $8.00/hour. Students will be asked to provide Right to Work Documents along with the application and will have to meet the income guidelines, which is outlined in the attached WIA brochure. In addition, a year round program is available. We have 45 slots for the South Sacramento area and 45 slots for the North Sacramento area. Students are offered 120 hours of paid training at $8.00/hour.
Ideal candidates for Year Round should:
-Be on track to graduate, not behind in school credits
-Have passed both Exit Exams
-Provide these documents: birth certificate, social security card, school I.D or CA. I.D., high school transcript, and family income statements for the past 6 months (e.g. pay stubs, benefits statements, etc.)
-Meet low income guidelines
-Be eligible for a work permit
