June 13th-15th, after school program time will be 12:21pm-3:00pm.  The after school program will close out on June 15th, 2011; including the library tutoring lab.  Thanks to all the teachers, staffs and parents for a successful year with their dedicated support for our West Campus students! 

Grad Night Chaperons Needed

Class of 2011 Graduation Ceremony has been scheduled for June 13th, 7pm-9pm at the Memorial Auditorium.  Following the Graduation Ceremony, parents of West Campus High School will host a "Grad Night" for graduating Seniors.
The purpose of Grad Night is to provide our graduating class a safe, fun and sober envoirment where students can mingle and celebrate the night away together.  
We are looking for chaperons to help make this a successful event
There are two shifts available

Time: 10pm-6am (June 13-14)
Cost: $10.00 (signed waiver required)

There will be entertainment/karaoke/food/drinks/prizes/Casino Dealers/Breakfast and much more!

Cash for College Scholarship Recipient

Alexis Cain was one of the 30 WC students/parents who attended the West Campus Cash for College financial aid workshop in Febuary 2011.  Participating high school Seniors were entered for a chance to win a $1,000.00 scholarship award.  Alexis Cain,was the lucky 2011 Cash for College Scholarship Recipient!  Thank you students and parents who participated in this workshop; we hope to see many more of you at our next workshop!

Language Lab

Language Lab support is open after school M-W & F, 3:05pm-4:15pm in room 23.  All students are welcome to drop in for Language support provided by English teachers, Mrs. Bell, Mrs. Bristow and Mrs. Travers.   

Green Technology

West Campus is currently looking for parents who are interested or who have background knowledge in Green Technology to work with students in the Green Tech class after school.  The goal of the Green Tech class is to build a "Green Team" on site in which students will learn and practice research skills, team building skills, critical thinking skills and also exposure to future Green careers, ect.  This Green Team will participate in developing and proposing innovative ways that will directly aid in West Campus's effort to lower our enegery costs.These are all student-led projects and participating students will also have the opportunity to attend leadership trainings hosted by the Alliance for Climate Education Organization.  We welcome parents and community members to collaborate in this Green Technology effort.  If you would like to volunteer or participate please contact After School Program Manager, See Chang at 916.277.6406 x1063 

Hats and Scarves Project

The Clothing Design class with be participating with David Morikawa from Meals on Wheels by ACC, our local Meals on Wheels affiliate to get involved in service projects for the seniors served by Meals on Wheels.  Ideally, with this particular service project students will create enough hats and scarves for each of the seniors at the closest center (usually about 20-30 seniors p/center).
We appreciatively accept donations of patterns, knitting materials, ect for this project.  If you would like to donate or get more information about this project please contact the after school Program Manager- See Chang @ 916.277-6406 x1063.
