WESTBURY PARK EVENTS 15th JUNE – 6th JULY

Saturday/Sunday, 15 & 16th June: Garden Party Weekend , Cambridge Arms, Coldharbour Road BBQ menu and bouncy castle in the garden all weekend, ideal way to start the summer. Live music on Sunday and Cornhole Tournament.

Saturday, 15th June at 10.30 am: “Off The Record” Coffee Morning, Methodist Church, North View Enjoy coffee and cake while supporting this local charity.

Saturday, 15th June at 11.00 am: Story Time with Paula Bowles, Max Minerva’s Bookshop, North View Illustrator Paula Bowles will read from her new book SuperKitty! and will also be doing crafts. Session costs £1 and is redeemable on purchase of a book. Best for ages 3 - 6.

Saturday, 15th June at 7.30 pm: Nigel Walton Memorial Concert, St Albans Church, Bayswater Avenue Celebration of Nigel’s life and music featuring organ and choral works followed by wine and cheese.  Retiring collection.

 Tuesday, 18th June at 7.00pm: Local History Walk An illuminating walk led by Jeff Bishop on the history of Westbury Park houses. Convene by North West Autos, Etloe Road. Likely finish 8:30 pm, free event.

Friday, 21st June at 8.00 pm: Festival Quiz Night, St Albans Church Hall Teams of up to six compete for the Westbury Park Trophy.   Bar will be open, advance tickets £3 from Barry Toogood Flowers. Doors open at 7.30 pm

Sunday, 23rd June at 10.15 am: St Albans Day Festival Service St Albans Church Celebrate St Albans day and learn about our patron saint.

Sunday, 23rd June at 12.30 pm: Westbury Park Get Together Lunch, St Albans Church Garden (inside if wet) Bring and share lunch inspired by Jo Cox. Stay as long as you like; spend time with friends and strangers, build community, have fun.

Monday, 24th June at 7.30 pm: Westbury Park Orchestra, St Albans Church WPO invites musicians of all abilities with any instrument to a “Come and Play“ rehearsal.  Enjoy an evening making music.

Tuesday, 25th June at 7.30 pm: Film night with Gordon Young, Westbury Park School Featuring the (world?) premiere of “Bristol Through Maps” based on Jeff Bishop’s book of the same name. Selection of other films, £4 on door.

Friday, 28th June, 4.30- 5.30 pm: The Big Comic Adventure Show, Max Minerva’s Bookshop, North View For kids 6-12. Come and watch author and creative writing tutor Robin Etherington create and draw a comic adventure!  Interactive and lots of fun.  Tickets £5, booking essential via shop or online.

Saturday, 29th June, 10.30 am–5.00 pm: Westbury Park Art Fair, Methodist Church, North View Free exhibition by a diverse group of talented local artists producing affordable gifts. Live music in the courtyard with lovely refreshments.

Sunday, 30th June, 2.00 – 5.30 pm: Westbury Park Open Gardens See the rich diversity of local gardens: refreshments available en route.  Maps £2 from Barry Toogood Flowers or 27 St Albans Road.

 Tuesday, 2nd July at 7.00 pm: Downs History Walk A short(ish) and fascinating walk led by well-known local expert Francis Greenacre. Convene outside cafe by the water tower. Likely finish 8.30 pm.

Wednesday, 3rd July at 6.30 pm: Wine Tasting led by Ian Abrahams, C The World Travel Agents, North View Wine expert Ian will take us through a selection of six Italian wines.  Tasting notes provided. Limited tickets £15, from Barry Toogood.

Saturday, 6th July, 2.30 – 5.00 pm: Festival Garden Party Grounds of St Albans Church (inside if wet) Community Garden Party; enjoy a cream tea, visit the stalls, listen to some music or relax in the garden.  Children's bouncy castle.
