Traffic Group

The Traffic Group meets regularly to discuss traffic and transport issues in our area including the proposed residential parking scheme and the introduction of the 20 mph speed limit. Members also attend meetings of the Henleaze Neighbourhood Partnership Traffic Group, where we can discuss issues directly with a City Council Traffic Officer.

There are nine members of the Traffic Group.  Others are welcome to join us. Please contact our convenor Ken Clarke if you would like to come along. The other members are:  Jeff Bishop, Janet Brewer, Lionel Hart, Duncan Laxen, Mildred Miller, Gudi Schepokat and Kevin Chidgey.

Resident Parking

After many months delay the extension of the Redland Resident Parking scheme to the Manor Park area became operational in August. .

In response to representations made about parking problems in other parts of Westbury Park the Community Association had planned to organise a survey to ascertain the level of support for resident parking in those parts of Westbury Park that were formerly included in the proposed Redland RPS area in 2013. However, the survey has been placed on hold following news that the Council are working on a report setting out the criteria they will use when considering further resident parking schemes in Bristol. It is hoped that the report will address key questions - eg.  will small extensions be permitted?  how will support for schemes be defined in terms of the % of residents responding to a survey and supporting RP ? what proof of support for a scheme will be acceptable to the Council? ,

The report is expected to be made available in October.
