WBA NAMES BRUCE AND CAROL CORWIN COMMUNITY LEADERS OF YEAR FOR 2018

The West Brattleboro Association (WBA) announced the Community Leader of the Year recipient during its annual Holiday Party on Thursday, December 13th, at Dalem's Chalet. The winners of this 8th annual award are the late Bruce Corwin and his wife Carol.

Bruce and Carol were both long time teachers in the Brattleboro school system, Bruce for instrumental music and Carol for kindergarten.  Bruce also directed the American Legion Band for 25 years and Carol was President of the Friends of the Library board.  Bruce was also a local Scoutmaster for many years as well as heading up the cooking of the West B chicken barbeques.  Carol and Bruce also both created and beautified the flower boxes on the bridge over the Whetstone Brook on Meadowbrook Road.

Prior to the award presentation Michael Bosworth gave the Association's brief "state of the Association" report, which is also attached below.

The West Brattleboro Association exists “to promote the thoughtful and effective evolution of the community of West Brattleboro as a place that is safe, healthy, attractive, and prosperous.” Our vision includes: a village center that is safe and walk-able and that provides all the products, services, and social opportunities needed daily by its residents; a Marlboro Road that takes full advantage as a “Gateway to Vermont”, marketing the best in local products and goods and services for the Vermont lifestyle; and an environment where small businesses of all kinds can sprout and put down roots… businesses such as The Vermont Country Deli Market.
