Where is the World headed?

I have been sitting here, and I can not help but to think about the condition of our country. If the USA had embraced new technology, years earlier, we would not be facing such severe unemployment rates. Yet, has our country decided to live a life style which is not sustainable or affordable. With the majority of the world working so hard to have clean water and food, I just can't see the American life being available for my future children. We really need to guage TV better, because this instrument has changed the social structure of America. Our wide and flat TVs have allowed us to turn our minds off. We no longer think and act industriously. America is a unhealthy country, not because we find joy in being the first owner of a car or puffing the wrinkles out of our faces. We are a sick society because we want to live in a fashion not in-tune with reality. We can not look perfect, and we can not enjoy frivolous extras when we can not give one second of our time to help others and empower others with knowledge and support. To be honest, we have lost the connection with our parents and children, the most important social connections we have available, almost universally, under the right circumstances.
