Farida’s Family

  1. November 25, 2021 Wesley United Church Minister Pastor Mandara and church member Lee Torvi meet with Farida and Manan Ahmad to get details about the family members and to discuss a family reunification sponsorship application. We commit ourselves to supporting this sponsorship of Farida’s mother, sister, brother-in-law, and 2-year old nephew.

  1. Volunteer Sponsorship team assembled: Lee Torvi & Gary McKay, Wesley UC members, for Wesley Mission & Outreach committee; Community members Colette Taylor, treasurer; Jodi Bucholtz; Ellizabeth Ives-Ruyter. Wesley’s minister, Pastor Mandara will serve as advisor.

  1. December 1-5, we make first announcements to friends, family, Wesley United Church, requesting that people share the word. Donations begin to arrive.

  1. Nov. 30, starting balance in Wesley United Church Refugee Fund $14,372.88

  1. Dec 6 balance - $18,772.88.

  2. Dec. 10 balance - $30,047.88.

  3. Dec. 14 balance - $36,197.88

  5. Dec. 24 balance - $51,000 (approx)

  6. Dec. 30 balance - $59,837.88 (WOW only $200 to go for our goal of $60,000)
