Melinda Kashuba, Ph.D. - President
Melinda’s three children enjoyed the benefits of the WES Camp Experience as sixth grade students. She served as a volunteer counselor for a week during one her children’s stays. Impressed by the excellent curriculum she has returned to demonstrate global positioning system (GPS) technology to students and the public during open house events at the camp. Melinda is an Associate Geography Instructor at Shasta College. She also owns her own historical research and writing business in Shasta County.

Stan Bridges- Vice President
Stan is a retired business owner who was born and raised in Redding. As a young boy he enjoyed the Whiskeytown area hunting and fishing, before the lake and dam existed. Stan was a volunteer counselor for a week at WES Camp in 2010, 2013 and 2014. As a result, he decided to get more involved in WES Community in order to help get kids into our wonderful natural areas and to help them understand the importance of taking care of the environment.

Edward "Ted" Meyer - Secretary
Ted is a Consulting Utility Arborist with Davey Resource Group and works on vegetation management projects all over Northern California. Ted graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from the University of Texas in 2000. He worked as a Naturalist at WES from 2002 to 2004 and fell in love with Whiskeytown and the greater Redding area. Ted is an advocate for outdoor science and environmental education and views WES and its programs as a priceless commodity for the entire North State. 

Kathy Hill – Treasurer
Kathy was a Field Naturalist in the Day Program at WES from 2008-2012, where she guided field trips for Kindergarten through 4th grade classes. She is currently a business owner in Redding providing in home health assistance. Kathy is enthusiastic about science, curiosity and creativity. She is also a portrait and landscape artist. Her education is in Environmental Biology from Humboldt State University.

David Huscher
David is an associate attorney with the law firm, Laughlin, Falbo, Levy & Moresi in Redding.  He is married and has four active sons.  His family has always been active in the outdoors; camping, hiking and backpacking.  His sons were satisfied participants in the Summer Backpacking Program offered by WES.
