For those who couldn't make it the official opening and ribbon cutting was carried out by Betty Allsop, one of the Parish's oldest residents who has lived all her life in Wellington Heath.
David Darwood made an introductory speech thanking all who have been involved in the project and especially BIFFA for providing the funding for the project.
This was followed by songs from our local songbirds (or should it be songboys) Simon Brown and Sean Ronan and a poetry reading from our resident bard Richard Allsopp whose specially written "Ode to Pool Piece" is attached below. Finally some of the chidren put on a small play ably assisted by Hamish Skinner who appeared to be wearing a onesie !!. Finally everyone was invited to use the equipment and have a party.
