Imagine having 26 acres to yourself for a family reunion - with space for everyone to sleep inside or pitch a tent outside!

Imagine the quiet solitude of a property bordered on three sides by state forest land and on the other by a seldom-traveled gravel road - perfect for a meditation retreat!

Imagine... Emrich!

Located on 26 acres in the rural Brighton area, Emrich is just minutes from highways, but feels like a world apart.  Nestled among 5,000 acres of state park land on a quiet country road, Emrich offers meeting space for small or large groups, and overnight accommodations for 90 people in five restored, historic buildings.

When you visit, you'll feel how special the place is.  In 2009, the buildings were restored to their "barn red" heritage, and many updates continue to be made.  Emrich offers a rare chance to get away from the pressures and hectic pace of modern life.  There are no televisions, and the only phone is in the office.  Wi-fi is available in a very limited area, including the office and Crowley deck.  Accommodations are simple but comfortable.  An onsite caretaker will ensure all of your needs are met, while maintaining your group's privacy.

The spacious, well-tended grounds include a large fire ring, volleyball net, mowed labyrinth, and lots of quiet walking trails.  We have a large garden, which provides fresh produce for our kitchen and for those in need in the community.  Help tend the garden or just watch the plants grow!   You can also step off the property and onto miles of state trails, including one that takes you to Bishop Lake, where you can swim or relax on the beach after a 20-minute hike.  In the winter, the state trails offer scenic cross country skiing.

Meals are available, too.  For a very modest fee, home-cooked meals using fresh, local ingredients can be served buffet style in the dining room or on the patio.  Large groups can also make arrangements to use the commercial kitchen to prepare their own meals.

You can use the menu on the left to view our facilities, check available dates, contact us, and more!

Some spots are still available for 2015.  Book now for 2016!  All buildings are open from
April 1 through November 1, and Ayres and Winters are open year round!
