Sarah Hipple was born to create.  She grew up in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, where she and her family of ten enjoyed home cooked meals together every night around the big wooden table.  Sarah quickly learned the joys of cooking and started working at her sister’s bakery when she was ten years old.

While studying glass at the Rhode Island School of Design, she spent her summers cooking for the Appalachian Mountain Club’s high mountain huts. Working without electricity in a rustic lodge kitchen, Sarah prepared meals from scratch for 40-90 guests: homemade breads, delicious pastries, hearty soups, savory meats and the freshest salads and vegetables.

Along with being a mom and a celebrated glass artist—her work can be found in many of the area’s finest galleries—Sarah has worked during the last ten years cooking for various staff trainings, weddings, and special events.  She and her husband and their two children currently live in Portland, Maine, where they have created a home that is always full of dear friends and family gathering to enjoy Sarah’s delicious cooking.

Sarah believes there is nothing better than enjoying a fresh, delicious, and wholesome meal around the kitchen table.  She started Welcome Home to share with you her culinary expertise and love for home cooked meals.
