Banjo Contest

Just like always, the contest will be held the first weekend of the National Old Time Fiddle Festival 
which occurs the first full week in June. Each class will be open to the first 10 don't wait. Click here to view our hallowed and venerated contest rules.
2017 Banjo Contest Schedule

The 2017 Weiser Banjo Contest will be held as usual on the front lawn of Beardsley Hall at the historic Inter-mountain Institute, home of the National Old Time Fiddle/Banjo Contest and Festival.  More detailed information will be posted here soon including exact times and prizes for the 2017 banjo contest.

Note: We always welcome volunteers on the weekend of the contest to help us pull off this event. Contact us if interested.

Saturday, June 17
  • Afternoon - Open Mic and Beginner Performances   
  • Evening - Intermediate Open Class Contest (Any Style)
    • Prizes:  hand made Idaho fruit pies plus:
    • 1st place - $40     2nd place - $30     1st place = $20
Sunday, June 18
  • Afternoon - Advanced Open Class (Any Style)
    • Prizes: hand made Idaho fruit pies plus
    • 1st place - $50     2nd place - $40     3rd place - $30
  • Evening - Banjo and Fiddle (No Additional Supporting Instruments)
    • Prizes: hand made Idaho fruit pies plus:
    • 1st place - $100    2nd place - $ 80    3rd place - $60
You may also register the day of either event at the Slocum Hall Information Center from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm.  Even if you are just going to perform at the open mic, it would be a big help if you would register.
