Sitting in the living room or on the front porch, relaxing and looking at the mountain is really the best thing about this cabin, but when you get tired of sitting, there is lots to do. First, Whiteside Cove Road is a beautiful scenic road with spectacular views, so you can just drive along the road and take in the beauty. You can take a 10 minute hike down the road and go spelunking in "Granite City" as the locals call it, a series of caves and rock formations in the side of the mountain. For a longer hike, you can drive about 5 minutes down to the trail head of the Chattooga River Trail. In 10 minutes you can drive to a spectacular and fun sliding rock, just off the side of the road, that is great fun for kids and adults alike. In 20 minutes, you can drive down Bull Pen Road to the Chattooga River and hike or picnic along the river, and, if you want to eat out or need a city fix, downtown Highlands and Cashiers are both just a 15 minute drive from the house. If you want to play golf, High Hampton Country Club in Cashiers is just 15 minutes away.
Finally, don't forget to top off your stay by climbing Whiteside Mountain. Yes, you can climb to the top of the mountain you see in our pictures. Not up the front of course. But you can drive about 20 minutes to the back side of the mountain where there is a parking area and hike about 30 minutes up to the top. Standing on the precipice of this 5000 ft. mountain, the view is unbelievable. You can see into Georgia, South Carolina and Tennessee, and if you look real close, you can see the cabin where you are staying in the valley below.

“Beautiful cabin with amazing view and location”
5 of 5 stars
Reviewed October 13, 2014 for a stay in October 2014
Loved the cabin, very quaint with all of the necessary items and then some extras. The view was beautiful and our timing for great foliage was perfect. The weather was nice, some rain but it was still enjoyable. The nearby towns were great. Cashiers had their Leaf Festival going on. Preferred the town of Cashiers to Highlands (more options to eat and grocery shop). The little cabin was amazing!

"Good morning, I just wanted to thank you again for your hospitality. My family and I had a wonderful time. Your cabin was most comfortable and ideally located to all of the attractions. I hope that we left it to your satisfaction upon our departure. Thanks again and we look forward to visiting Highlands again."

"Your cabin was just what we were looking for and more. It was clean and well equipped. We treated it as our own and never failed to find what we needed. Enjoyed the family story sitting on the porch eating boiled peanuts and enjoying the view. The DSL kept us in touch with our business and was a must. We do want to come back, and for a longer stay. Thank you for all the thought that went into setting up the cabin."
