Unlike in Mumbai or other parts of India, there are not any very good or big Water Parks in Pune and moreover, they are operational only during summer months. But something better than nothing!
Diamond Water Park, formerly Splash Mountain Water Park is one of the largest amusement parks (only) in Pune. It features play station, Lilly pads, wave pool, kiddies’ pool for children and special family pool with wet bubble. A Pure Veg. restaurant serving tasty dishes, cold drinks and ice-cream is within the park. Rental prams, costumes, tubes, towel and lockers are also available. This water Park is spread over 15 acres of land. It has 28 different rides. Water over here is clean and Lab tested hence hygienic. Fees for Entry and Water rides was Rs. 300 for Adults and Rs. 250 for children over the Weekends and Public Holidays (Includes Pure Vegetarian Thali with Sweet). Set amidst Sahayadri Mountains, Nishiland Water Park is a welcome break from the bustling life in the Mumbai & Pune. Sprawling over an area of 55 acre land, the Nishiland Water Park is situated between Panvel and Khopli on the Old Mumbai Pune highway (NH4). It is about 45 km from Mumbai Central Suburb and 70 km from Pune.
The water park offers a multiple exciting water games like wave pool, children's play pool, a water slide, lake boating, a 'Rub a Dub Jacuzzi', Dome and Mushroom slide, Aqua Tube & Harakiri, Rain Dance etc. Wave Pool is a large pool with artificially created waves of six different types. There are Body Slides and Speed Slides which are long channels with rubber boats fitted in it, descending down at a very high speed into a pool 32 ft down.
The Nishiland Water Park also provides excellent opportunities for picnic. There are one day packages which include entry to the park, fee for several rides inside the park and foodstuff. There are an array of delicious cuisines of various types both Indian and continental.
The park remains open from 10 am to 6 pm providing a large parking area for about 300 cars.
Nearest stations are at Panvel and Karjat. From there Rickshaws are available which will take hardly 10 to 15 min to reach Nishiland Water Park. State buses and other private buses heading towards Pune all have a stoppage at Nishiland Water Park. If you are coming from Pune, take old Pune-Mumbai highway (NH4) to Khopoli - Chauk Phata - Nishiland Water Park - Panvel.
