Workforce Program Manager

The Workforce Development Center at the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce is seeking a qualified individual to oversee the operation of the Chamber’s workforce development programs. These programs provide income eligible Dutchess County residents (youth and adults) with intensive case management supports, with a focus on academic advancement and long-term unsubsidized employment. Major programs currently include Workforce Connections, DC Youth One Stop and the Career Action Center. The Workforce Program Manager will manage the work of program staff members to ensure that each program achieves required goals. These goals include recruiting program participants, conducting enrollment sessions, and providing mentoring and ongoing case management to enrolled participants. Successful candidate will have project and personnel management experience. The Manager will ensure that program outcomes are achieved, tracked and reported as required. Other duties include marketing the programs to employers, responding to funders, and identifying opportunities for program expansion. Experience responding to requests for proposals preferred. An understanding of Social Services and local community service agencies is necessary. Minimum Bachelors Degree and previous case management experience preferred. Position is full-time. Some local travel may be required. Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills required, as well as proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook. Email cover letter and resume for consideration. Job Description:

We are looking for a certified WBL Coordinator who is outgoing, creative, detailed oriented, able to multi-task, skilled with technology who can organize and supervise quality Work-based Learning Programs and other career events.  This individual should possess the skills and knowledge to:  
  • Coordinate NYS registered work-based learning programs using proper procedures, forms and assessments.
  • Network with local businesses for purposes of student placement and curriculum development.
  • Teach related instruction employability skills.
  • Oversee training site’s safety regulations and labor laws for NYS minors.
  • Coordinate an industry advisory board.
  • Plan career-related events such as career fairs, employment days, guest speakers, field trips.
  • Counsel students in making choices of current and future career opportunities.
  • Share career and corporate intelligence with staff and students

This individual may also possess the following skills which are preferred but not required:

  • Internship placement experience
  • Knowledge of the new CDOS Commencement Credential
  • Knowledge and application of technology for communications with employers, students and staff
  • Knowledge of the competitive, global workforce requirements
  • Experience with district business departments, internship programs, and/or career programs
